WHRR is an internet radio station based on the legacy of jazz. Charlie Rouse Sr., one of the founders of bebop, dedicated his life and talents to the musical art form called jazz. WHRR is a continuation of my father's love and dedication to this art form. The House of Rouse Radio will educate you and expand your jazz horizons. WHRR's exclusive musical library, from Chico House of Jazz, is one of the largest privately held library on the east coast. The library ranges from the jazz era of the 1920's through to the present, with a variety of jazz artists including Charlie Rouse, Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Louie Armstrong, Joe Henderson and Herbie Hancock, just to name a few. The diverse musical spectrums of fusion, bebop, mainstream and big band are some examples of the types of music WHRR brings to you. WHRR is the sponsor and the media vehicle for the hottest jazz club coming to the Jersey shore in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Chico's House of Jazz is opening in 2008 and will host national and regional musicians and theater productions.
