Directions:

By Subway Take the M or R to Union Street (on 4th Avenue) station. Walk 3 blocks north on 4th Avenue, turn left onto Douglass Street. 295 is a 3-story building with a "Gowanus Arts" sign on the right, closer to 3rd Avenue.

Or, take any subway that goes to the Atlantic Avenue or Pacific Street station in Brooklyn (many of the lines stop there, including the 2, 3, 4, 5, M, N, R, Q, W). Head south on 4th Avenue about 8 blocks. Turn right (west) onto Douglass St. You will see a 3-story building with a "Gowanus Arts" sign closer to 3rd Avenue on your right.

A little further, but another alternative is to take the F to Carroll Street. Walk two blocks north to Union Street, turn right (east) onto Union. Go 4 blocks (crossing the infamous Gowanus Canal), then turn left (north) onto 3rd Avenue. Go 3 blocks to Douglass St, turn right. You will see the building with a "Gowanus Arts" sign almost immediately on your left.

By Car From points north : Take the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, 278, west to the Tillary Street exit. Once you have gotten off the ramp, stay in the 2 left lanes. At the second light, take a left onto Flatbush Avenue (to the right is the Manhattan Bridge). Head south, and in less than a mile, you will come to 3rd Avenue. Stay alert on Flatbush as there are many aggressive, weaving drivers there! 3rd Avenue comes after Fulton Street and then quickly after Livingston Street. Turn right onto 3rd Avenue. Travel about 10 blocks to Douglass Street and turn left. You will see the building with a "Gowanus Arts" sign almost immediately on your left. Park wherever you can. There usually is parking available. If not, continue up to 4th Avenue, and go around the block, or continue up to 5th Avenue.

From points south : Take the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, 278, east (north?) to the Hamilton Street exit. When you get to the bottom of the ramp, be ready to make a very quick right onto Hicks Street. Go about 5 blocks to Union Street, and turn right. After about 8 blocks (crossing the infamous Gowanus Canal), turn left onto 3rd Avenue. Go 3 blocks to Douglass Street, turn right. You will see the building with a "Gowanus Arts" sign almost immediately on your left. Park wherever you can. There usually is parking available. If not, continue up to 4th Avenue, and go around the block, or continue up to 5th Avenue.
