Matt Janiszewski is quickly becoming one of the premier Tenor Saxophone players in New Jersey. He is currently the lead tenor in the Jazz Lobsters big band and regularly performs with the Midnight Sun Jazz Orchestra, The Fins, Old No. 7, and Hyperactive. As a student at Rutgers and the University of Connecticut Matt played tenor and alto sax in the premier jazz combos and big bands, and during his career has performed with Frank Sinatra Jr., Jim McNeely, Eddie Palmieri, Edward Simon, Lewis Porter, Michael Mossman, Ralph Bowen, Conrad Herwig, and Bobby Vinton. He has performed throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and in his home state of Connecticut at such venues as Carnegie Hall, the Blue Note in NYC, Trumpets jazz club, Cecil’s jazz club, and the Harford Jazz Festival. While obtaining a masters in performance at Rutgers University Matt studied with Ralph Bowen, and has studied with Eric Alexander, Jim Snidero, Ken Nigro, and Greg Case. He has also studied jazz with Conrad Herwig, Stanley Cowell, Earl MacDonald, John Swana, Vic Juris, and Dave Santoro....
